July 2016 is the 50th anniversary of England winning the World Cup.

If you would like a different question to ask on the subject ... I have used it as part of a marathon round with a wipeout element (get one wrong and cancels your score)

Name the 11 players in the England World Cup squad of 1966 that didn't play in the final?

Brilliant question. I could add quite a few - Ron Springett was reserve goalkeeper and Ian Callaghan and John Connelly were originally in front of Martin Peters in the pecking order and I'm pretty sure Terry Paine also played a game. Jimmy Armfield also mentioned a few times on his match commentaries that he was in the squad but after that That I'd be guessing. That leaves 5 more so my guesses would be Bryan Douglas, George Eastham, Ron Flowers, Brian Labone and Keith Newton.
