He was a Professor of Astronomy at Oxford University, a notable mathematician and co-wrote the book on Anatomy that introduced the word "neurology" into the English Language but is best known for a different profession he took up in his mid-30s after a national disaster. He lived to the age of 90 and has an epitaph that reads `Lector, si monumentum requires, circumspice’. Who is he?
