Tricky one this, as several people have claims. I know that Humphrey Davy was experimenting with electric lamps long before Edison started slapping patents on everything..


I believe the answer to the previous question was most likely Muzak, according to Google.

The answer is Joseph Swan. Edison patented it in 1862, a year after Swan

In 1922, he created WIRED RADIO, a service that piped music to businesses and subscribers over wires. He changed the service's name to MUZAK in (1934)
