| I was checking their singles list as I've run to the limit of my U2 knowledge and for once in my life I have to admit the Americans have better taste than us - U2's last Top 8 single in the USA was in 1988! And they've never had a Top 5 single in France - horrible to realise even the Fench have better taste... |

A (clean) joke you may like.
A teacher was helping one of her primary school students put on his boots. He asked for help and she could see why.
Even with her pulling and him pushing, the little boots still didn't want to go on. By the time they got the second boot on, she had worked up a glow.
She almost cried when the little boy said, "Teacher, they're on the wrong feet." Sure enough, they were. It wasn't any easier pulling the boots off than it was putting them on. She managed to keep her cool as together they worked to get the boots back on, this time on the correct feet.
He then announced, “These aren't my boots, you know.â€
She bit her tongue rather than get right in his face and scream, “Why didn't you say soâ€, like she wanted to. Once again, she struggled to help him pull the ill-fitting boots off his little feet. No sooner had they
gotten the boots off when he said, “They're my brother's boots. My Mom made me wear them.â€
Now she didn't know if she should laugh or cry, but she mustered up what grace and courage she had left to wrestle the boots onto his feet again.
Helping him with his coat, she asked, “Now, where are your mittens?â€
He said, “I stuffed them in the toes of my boots so I wouldn't lose them!†|

I recorded an old episode of Dr Who on BBC3 on the 18th called 'The Beast Below'. It was set on a futuristic United Kingdom, a country (looked more like a city) in space set on the back of a captured monster... strange, but quite entertaining. They landed in a place called Surrey, each area being named after a county.
The part that made me chuckle was when the doctor and his companion were ejected down a tube into the mouth of the monster which was promptly made to be sick so that they could escape. Not very nice. Emelia Pond, the doctor's companion asked him where they were. He replied 'Lancashire'!!
Made me smile! |
