8 pupils from Harrow School have gone on to hold the office of Prime Minister. Winston Churchill and Robert Peel were among the 6 Conservatives and Lord Palmerston the only Whig. To which party did the 8th belong?

It was the main independence party but that's not what it's called - it has been the governing party 10 times out of 14 since 1947 but had its worst ever result in 2014 after having formed the government for the 10 previous years. It's led by Sonia Gandhi.
