POP QUIZ TIE BREAKERS

Can anyone help with some tricky 'nearest to' tie breakers for my weekly music quiz?

Name the year generally aren't difficult enough as someone's always got a rough idea.
I've used loads of "Jason Donovan had the 666th UK No1 single"-type questions.
And even things like "How many letters were there in the longest word sung in a UK top 40 hit"?

Any suggestios?

I liked the one - might have been one of your questions - "Robbie Williams has had more tracks on the "Now that's What I call Music" series of CDs than anyone else. Including tracks with Take That, how many in total?" Answer is 29.

Dates are a good source of tie -breaker questions ( Or 'nearest the bull' as my mate calls them) They are good for themed quizzes such as

Movie Quiz : What date was Kirk Douglas born on? (9/12/1916)

Christmas Quiz : On what date was White Christmas first released as a single in the UK? (3/12/1977) Which always catches them out!

I might use that last one again this year, just to test out my crowd.

As of this week there have been 968 U.S. number 1s. After the US and UK, Sweden is the country to have supplied most US number 1s with 4 but how many U.S. number 1s have been by British artists (classed as where at least 50% of the act is British)? 163

One suggetsion is to pick one of the artists from the answers in the main quiz, go onto Everyhit site and find out how many top 20 chart entries they have had and use this as the tie break question - if there's another tie you can ask how many number 1s they've had - it's worked for me with groups like Slade and Rolling Stones but you can't use it too often.
