Sorry a bit of clarification needed!!
The teams have to have more than 1 part to their name!
There's also Doncaster Rovers and a few Towns.
Aston Villa
Tottenham Hotspur
Queens Park Rangers
Sheffield Wednesday
Crewe Alexandra
Crystal Palace
Nottingham Forest
Preston North End
Leyton Orient
Milton Keynes Dons
Plymouth Argyle
Accrington Stanley
2 to go (I think!) |

Another 4 posibles
West Bromwich Albion
Wolverhampton Wanderers
Brighton and Hove Albion
Dageham and Redbridge
Or do you mean they cant end with the same name as another team, so that disqualifies the two Albions. |

I meant that they are the only team with that ending so 2 Albions not Wanderers Bolton as well.
Redbridge is correct!
One to go near the foot of Division 4 sorry League 2! |

Port Vale?
I was surprised when you said yes to Redbridge because given the name (Dagenham and Redbridge) I'd always assumed Redbridge was a place near Dagenham. But I guess it's not? |

Yep Port Vale is the last one.
Redbridge is 7 miles from Dagenham but in the terms of the question it is the ending of the team name. A bit tenuous but there you go! |

I liked that, but will have to make sure I word the question correctly when asking my mates.
Got any more similar type questions. |

Thanks for the compliment!
The wording has to be precise
Another one on similar lines and I think that there are 14 answers to this one as well, I'll have to check!
Name the (I'll check the number) iof the 92 English League with birds as nicknames. |

LEEDS UNITED - Peacocks
SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY - Owls
NEWCASTLE UNITED - Magpies
NOTTS COUNTY - Magpies
WBA - Throstles
CARDIFF CITY - Bluebirds
SWANSEA CITY - Swans
SWINDON TOWN - Robins
BRIGHTON - Seagulls
NORWICH CITY - Canaries
BRISTOL CITY - Robins
CRYSTAL PALACE - Eagles
BRADFORD CITY - Bantams
SPURS - Cockerels
There's another 'ROBINS', but I can't remember who. |

CHELTENHAM are the other Robins
I think that's the lot. There might be some dispute about West Brom. Some sources say that Throstles is obsolete.
When I was asked this I argued Leeds United ,,,The Peacocks but this is now considered obsolete. |

Knowing the teams with bird nicknames takes more indepth knowledge than just knowing the teams names, so if I was to ask that, I would be sent to The Sky Blues.
However the question got me wondering how many creatures could be found in the team names.
Not counting MAN or geographical breeds like HEREFORD CATTLE, I got 7.
Any Advance? |

There are many "classics" in this field like which is the only team whose name (defined as what comes before the FC) does not contain any letters of the word FOOTBALL (The answer is DUNDEE)
Similarly there are teams whose names (defined above) begin and end in the same letter
LiverpooL
Charlton athletiC
Northampton towN
Dundee uniteD etc
York citY used to be the hardest of these to find |

2 oldies but goodies:
1. The only English League Club that shares no letters in its name with the word "Mackerel"?
2. The only English Leage Club that you can't colour in any of the letters? _________________ Rodney Marsh: "So how's your wife…and my kids?"
