I use Paint.NET which is free. It's quite simple to use - cut and paste the image you want onto the blank sheet and resize to whatever size you want. I normally do 2 rows of 3 for a total of six album covers per page.
Then select whichever shape you want from the Tools menu in the top left corner, - 9 times out of ten this is the rectangle for me but you can just free draw around the text you want to hide -before drawing click on the circle/rectangle icon next to the Tools button and select "Draw filled shape" and position the mouse at the top left hand corner of where you want the rectangle to go, hold down left mouse button and drag mouse to where you want the bottom right hand corner of the rectangle to be - and you're finished... |

You can use Windows for such a simple manipulation of a picture. Open the picture as you would normaly do, and then click on the edit icon at the bottom right hand side between the floppy and help icons. All you need is a little practice using the tools that are on the left hand side. You can erase, fill, add text, etc.
If you need greater control, many digital cameras have a photosuite programme bundled with the software and I'm sure thats easy to get your hands on. |
