Like Rob Bob, if I wrote this ten times I'd have 10 different lists, but off the top of my head and in no particular order:

Citizen Kane

2001: A Space Odyssey

Angels With Dirty Faces

The Road to Perdition

Vertigo

Hombre

Goodbye Mr. Chips (the Robert Donat version)

The Crucible (Daniel Day-Lewis version)

The Private Life of Sherlock Holmes

Shane

and among the ones I could have added - The Godfather, The Shootist, Cool Hand Luke, Oklahoma!, Sunset Boulevard, The Last Picture Show.

Can't argue with any on your list Buzzie - the only one I've not seen is 127 Hours. I can't say the same about Mrs. Buzzie's choices though! Having said that I've seen all on her list too except One Day. Only seen half of Rob Bob's selections though and Oldboy especially looks like it might be my type of film.

An eclectic list from TS with some absolute classics and again I've seen all but The Crucible and Hombre. At least no-one chose my least favourite, the mind numbingly dull The English Patient which remains the only film where I've fallen asleep in the cinema.

There's a good range of films on show here! There has to be something for everyone :-)

Wildrover - Make sure you watch the South Korean version of Oldboy by Park Chan Wook, Spike Leigh did a US remake a year or two ago that wasn't a patch on the original.

There are many on other people's lists that I would have been happy to pick but I would have to add, but in no particular order:

The Swedish original of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Girl who Played with Fire and The Girl who Kicked the Hornet's Nest.
The Magnificent Seven (or even though I haven't seen it for years Kurosawa's Seven Samurai wouldn't be bad either)
Mary Poppins (just because)
I would have to have at least one QT film in there so Kill Bill vol I
The Blues Brothers
Bullitt
Dr Strangelove
The Usual Suspects

It was hard to get it down to 10 different films and that's treated the Millennium series as three films!
Zulu and Love, Honour and Obey would have got in there if they counted as one!
