There's a clue in so much as it has a wartime theme, the photo being taken in 1918 but they're not cannonballs.

I doubt it's Ireland, north or south, as the format of the car registration plates is wrong. There are quite a few of these Chinese arches around as most big cities have a Chinatown these days. I'll try Liverpool as I know there's one there.

And I'm wrong - blew up the photo enough to make out most of the letters in the "Tyneside Irish Centre" sign on the right.

Good detective work there Wildrover. It's Newcastle and that's St. James' Park in the background. There is a bloke in a Newcastle United top in the pic too.

Although 2 of them are American, they are: Christopher Lee, Vincent Price, Peter Cushing and John Carradine.
