I know that one having seen the band this summer - Highway to Hell by AC/DC. Here's one where I accompanied Little Miss Wildrover in one of her A-Level Music performance pieces. It reached #3 in 2004 although a cover version got to number 1 a few years ago.

Oh simple thing where have you gone?
I'm getting old and I need someone to rely on
So tell me when you're gonna let me in
I'm getting tired and I need somewhere to begin

Academic inspiration, you gave me none
You were Michael the lover
The fighter that won

Lyrics from which song?

WR you are sadly mistaken - it was "Geno" by Dexy's Midnight Runners I'm afraid!

The answer to yours is best known these days as a John Lewis Christmas advert theme - its "Somewhere only we know" by Keane or Lily Allen

How about these lines from one of the 27 Club's most famous members...

“I’m so happy ’cause today I found my friends, they’re in my head
I’m so ugly, but that’s OK ’cause so are you.”

No - later - I would say that this 1992 song is the theme tune for Generation X (though I love it too) - our 27 year old decided it was a good idea to shoot himself in the head with a shotgun.

Twas Nirvana - Smells like Teen Spirit. By the way for anyone who hasn't seen it I loved the Metallica/Jimmy Fallon version of Enter Sandman. For some reason I can't post urls at the moment.
